Sources: Swansea City star Kyle Joseph agrees to join Blackpool in Jerry Yates part-exchange deal
Kyle Joseph is set to join Blackpool as part-exchange in Jerry Yates’ move to Swansea City, sources have told Football Insider.
Swansea have included their own forward, 21, as part of the package for Yates in a shock twist.
The deal has been agreed for Joseph to make the switch to Bloomfield Road to help fill the void left by Yates’ departure.
Joseph spent last season on loan at Oxford United where he nine goals and provided one assist in 37 games.
The striker also had a loan spell at Cheltenham Town during the 2021-22 season where he managed to score four goals in 19 appearances.
Swansea agreed a fee with Blackpool for Yates on Monday (10 July) and the player has approved personal terms with the Welsh club.
Yates, 26, scored 15 goals last season and Swansea are understood to have beaten off interest from two other clubs to land the striker.
The forward’s current contract at Blackpool expires next summer but the club do have the option to extend his deal by a further 12 months.

Yates joined the Tangerines in 2020 from Rotherham and has made 139 appearances across in all competitions in his three years with the club.
He has scored 46 goals and provided 18 assists in those outings.
Despite the striker’s 15 goals in the 2022-23 season, it was not enough to keep Blackpool in the Championship and they were forced back down to League One.
Yates is set to become Swansea boss Michael Duff’s third signing of the summer following the arrivals of Josh Ginnelly and Josh Key.
