Sources: Swansea, Sheffield Wednesday and Wigan in race for Man United star Charlie Savage
Man United midfielder Charlie Savage is a target for a number of clubs at home and abroad, including Swansea, Sheffield Wednesday and Wigan, sources have told Football Insider.
The EFL trio have registered their interest in Savage in the last 48 hours and are exploring loan and potentially permanent deals for the 20-year-old.
Savage, who had a spell out on loan at Forest Green last season, has been training with Erik ten Hag’s first team during pre-season.
He captained a youthful Man United side in the second half of last week’s friendly win over Leeds United in Oslo.
However, the young midfielder could be on the move away from Old Trafford this summer.
Savage joined Forest Green temporarily in the closing stages of the January transfer window, and took part in each of their last 15 league games of the season.

He managed one goal for Duncan Ferguson’s side as they suffered relegation to the fourth tier of English football.
The midfielder, who is the son of former Wales and Blackburn midfielder Robbie, is out of contract at Man United in June 2025.
However, the Red Devils hold an option to extend his deal by a further 12 months.
Savage has turned out just once for Man United so far – a one-minute cameo in the Champions League against Young Boys in 2021.
Swansea are on the hunt for reinforcements under new boss Michael Duff following Russell Martin’s exit to Southampton earlier this summer.
Sheffield Wednesday are in desperate need of signings for new manager Xisco Munoz following their promotion to the Championship last term.
Wigan will play League One football in the 2023-24 campaign after finishing bottom of the second tier last season.
