Sources: Rangers offer for Ryan Kent is 'best on the table' as Burnley make move
The contract offer from Rangers is currently the best on the table for Ryan Kent despite strong Burnley interest, sources have told Football Insider.
The winger, 26, is free to discuss pre-contract deals with his contract expiring in the summer and the Championship leaders have made contact with the player over a potential move.
But it is believed that positivity around a new deal at Ibrox is growing after the latest round of contract talks between Kent and the club.
Renewal talks between Rangers and Kent have been slow, but the club feel they are in a strong position as negotiations progress.
There is a feeling growing that Kent will stay in Glasgow, although it is understood that reports of wage demands of £50,000-£60,000-a-week are wide of the mark and far too high.
The Englishman is said to have nothing but respect and admiration for Govan side.
Vincent Kompany is an admirer of Kent and is keen to bring him to Turf Moor as the Clarets set their sights on returning to the Premier League.

Kent shares a strong relationship with current Rangers manager Michael Beale after previously thriving under him during his spell as assistant manager at Ibrox.
Following a fallow period under Giovanni van Bronckhorst at the start of the season, Kent has scored twice and assisted once in his last six league appearances.
Kent was superb for Rangers in the 2020-21 league-winning campaign, scoring eight and assisting nine times to help Steven Gerrard and Beale’s side win their 55th league title.
He is currently in his fifth season at Ibrox after moving north of the border from Liverpool in 2018 – initially on a one-year loan before the move was made permanent for £7million a year later.
Kent graduated from Liverpool’s academy in 2015 after spending 11 years in their youth setup.
However, he failed to make a senior appearance for the Reds and instead spent time out on loan at Coventry City, Barnsley, SC Freiburg and Bristol City.
