Sources: Rangers rejected last-gasp moves for Leon King and Alex Lowry from rivals
Rangers rejected last-gasp loan bids for youngsters Alex Lowry and Leon King last month, sources have told Football Insider.
Both players are in need of more game time but temporary moves away from Ibrox failed to materialise in the final throes of the January window.
Hibernian made an offer for King, 19, but saw their approach knocked back immediately by Rangers.
The centre-back starlet, who has played over 1200 minutes of senior action across 21 appearances this term, signed a new Ibrox contract in December 2022 which will keep him at the club until 2026.
King had been the subject of interest from clubs like Leeds United and Newcastle United – as well as Bundesliga duo Bayer Leverkusen and Eintracht Frankfurt.
However, he hasn’t played a single minute of Scottish Premiership football since the mid-season World Cup break.

Lowry, 19, has seen his senior action limited to just 81 minutes across four appearances this season.
As such, the attacking midfielder asked to go out on loan in order to play regular first-team football.
Dutch side FC Twente and Kilmarnock were interested but a deal could not be struck before the deadline on 31 January.
Scotland Under-21 international Lowry is under contract at Ibrox until 2025.
Robbie Ure is another youngster who has made a senior breakthrough this season – but is now looking to leave the club on a permanent basis.
Football Insider revealed on Wednesday (8 February) that the 18-year-old striker is set to leave the club on a free transfer this summer after being offered a new contract on a reduced salary.
In the Scottish Premiership, Rangers continue to trail their Glasgow rivals Celtic by nine points.
Michael Beale’s side will have an opportunity to wrest silverware away from the Hoops in the Scottish League Cup final later this month (26 February).
