Sources: Moises Caicedo 'worried' Arsenal dream is over after whispers he's heard
Moises Caicedo is “worried” a move to Chelsea in the summer is unlikely after a January move to Arsenal fell through, sources have told Football Insider.
Brighton rejected bids from both Chelsea and Arsenal for the midfielder, 21, in January, insisting that the midfielder was not for sale.
Caicedo issued a statement to his employers urging them to let him leave in January as he pushed hard for a last-gasp transfer to Arsenal, who had two offers rejected.
The Seagulls then urged the Ecuador international to stay away from the club until after the transfer window shut at the end of the month.
Caicedo returned to Brighton and was in the starting lineup for the 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace on Saturday (11 February).
But, sources have told Football Insider that Caicedo and his representatives are “worried” a summer move to Arsenal or another of his suitors may be more difficult than a winter-window switch.

The midfielder’s agent is aware of the volume of top-rated midfield players that will be available in the summer window, and there are whispers that Caicedo could drop down the agenda for several clubs.
The likes of Declan Rice and Jude Bellingham are top of the target list for multiple elite clubs.
But, Caicedo is still on the Blues’ radar ahead of the summer, despite the £106million capture of Enzo Fernandez.
His current contract at the AMEX stadium runs until 2025 but will push for a move in the summer.
Caicedo has made 23 appearances for Roberto de Zerbi’s side this season and has scored one goal and provided one assist in those outings.
