Sources: Bukayo Saka close to agreeing bumper Arsenal deal after new talks

Arsenal are confident over securing a full agreement with Bukayo Saka over a new contract soon as the club continue to try and keep hold of their best players, sources have told Football Insider.

The London giants announced a new deal for Gabriel Martinelli on 3 February and are likely to follow suit with their home-grown superstar.

Sources have told Football Insider that Saka’s contract is a priority and that there is growing confidence of a breakthrough in talks soon following recent discussions.

The England International’s current deal expires in summer 2024, and he has been one of the outstanding players for the Premier League leaders this season.

Arsenal are offering Saka a huge pay rise that will bring his terms in line with the top earners at the club like Thomas Partey and Gabriel Jesus.

There are, of course, clubs monitoring Saka’s situation as they prepare to pounce, but Football Insider has been told that the likelihood of a move away from the Emirates is extremely low.

If a club were to try for Saka, they would have to fork out around £100million-plus, and crucially, the player’s desire is to extend his deal.

The Arsenal youth product has been in superb form this season, scoring seven goals and assisting eight from 21 Premier League appearances. Coaches at the club only expect him to get better.

Gabriel Martinelli has recently renewed on a deal that runs until 2027 with the option for another year, centre-back Saliba is also a player who will begin contract talks in the near future.

Arsenal are compiling a targets list for the summer with Declan Rice’s name featuring most prominently.

However, the club are first keen to tie down those players who have taken them to the top of the Premier League.
