Sources: Major update on Ryan Jack's Rangers future as Celtic plan revealed
Rangers are set to open talks with Ryan Jack over a new contract after the Scottish League Cup final against Celtic, sources have told Football Insider.
The 30-year-old midfielder’s current deal is due to expire at the end of the season and he revealed last month that talks over an extension had yet to begin.
It is believed that Rangers are planning to sort Jack’s contract situation after the 26 February showdown against Ange Postecoglu’s league leaders at Hampden Park.
The Glasgow giants intend to offer the former Aberdeen star a new deal with the player still seen as a key member of the team.

Jack joined Rangers on a free transfer from Aberdeen in 2017 and signed a new and improved four-year deal in 2019 when Steven Gerrard was the manager.
He has suffered some serious injuries during his time at Ibrox and that has limited him to 178 appearances across six seasons.
Those matches have yielded 14 goals and 14 assists.
Of the current Rangers squad only Alfredo Morelos has been at the club as long as Jack, with both joining in the summer of 2017.
