Sources: Rangers plot raid for Josh Maja
Rangers have a genuine interest in Bordeaux striker Josh Maja, sources have told Football Insider.
The Glasgow giants are assessing multiple forwards target as they prepare for a major overhaul of their attack this summer.
One of those on Rangers’ radar is Maja, the former Sunderland forward who is out of contract at the Ligue 2 club at the end of the season.
The Nigeria international is being monitored by the Ibrox club, whose director of football Ross Wilson is leading the club’s transfer plans.
Maja is highly regarded by Rangers, who held talks over signing him in 2020 when Alfredo Morelos was close to leaving.
Morelos’ future is once again in major doubt with his contract expiring this summer, while fellow forward Ryan Kent also has a deal that runs out at that time.

Maja has had a fine campaign for Bordeaux, who are third in the French second tier and well placed to challenge for promotion.
He has scored 12 goals and supplied three assists from 26 appearances in all competitions this season, with 11 of his goals coming in league matches.
His 78 matches for Bordeaux have yielded 24 goals and he has extensive experience in Ligue 1, the English Championship as well as 15 Premier League appearances.
Maja made his name at Sunderland before joining Bordeaux in 2019 amid extensive competition for his signature.
He has subsequently had spells on loan at Fulham and Stoke City.
