Sources: Rangers priced out of Lydon Dykes deal as Beale wishlist revealed

A deal to bring Lyndon Dykes to Rangers in the summer is “highly unlikely,” sources have told Football Insider.

The QPR star is not top of Michael Beale’s wishlist ahead of the summer window but is highly respected by both the Light Blues manager and the staff at the club.

The Gers are keen to add another striker to their ranks at the end of the season with the uncertainty surrounding the future of goalscorer Alfredo Morelos.

But sources have told Football Insider that a deal for Dykes, 27, is unlikely given the fee it would take to lure him away from Queens Park Rangers.

The Scotland international’s current contract at QPR runs until 2024 and the club see him as a key player and are keen to keep hold of him.

The forward has scored six goals in 28 Championship appearances so far this season.

Although Dykes is believed to be interested in a move to Ibrox, it would be a big outlay for the Gers and as a result it’s “highly unlikely” any deal will be done in the summer.

The forward is no stranger to Beale, having worked together during the manager’s brief spell at QPR.

The now-Rangers boss has Morelos, Antonio Colak, Kemar Roofe and Fashion Sakala as options going forward.

But Morelos is out of contract in the summer and is yet to sign a new deal at Ibrox, leaving questions about his long-term future.

On 19 February, Football Insider revealed that Spanish, Italian and Turkish clubs are monitoring the Colombian ahead of the summer window.

Colak joined the Gers in the summer on a three-year deal, Sakala is out of contract in 2025 and Roofe’s current deal runs until 2024.

In other news, according to sources, Rangers are plotting raid to sign Jack Butland with Man United star ‘keen’ on move.
