Sources: 'Huge' news on Rangers pursuit of £5m-valued star Nikola Krstovic
Rangers will struggle to get a deal for Nikola Krstovic over the line this summer, sources have told Football Insider.
Current club Dunajska Streda are attempting to price potential bidders out of a move for the striker, 22, after turning down enquiries in January.
Krstovic signed for the Slovakian club last summer from Red Star Belgrade and his current deal runs until 2025.
The forward has already scored 11 goals and provided three assists in 18 league appearances this season and Dunajska Streda are desperate to keep hold of him.
It is believed the Fortuna Liga side are looking for a fee in the range of £4million-£5million if they are to let the player leave in an attempt to price out interested clubs.
They have already knocked back bids from interested parties in the January window and are expected to do the same in the summer.

As a result, it would take a “huge outlay” for the Light Blues to capture the Montenegro international and that would involve selling one of their current options.
Krstovic has been viewed as a potential long-term replacement Alfredo Morelos who is out of contract in the summer.
It has been suggested that the departure of Morelos could open the door for the arrival of Krstovic, but he is not a number one target for the Glasgow giants moving into the summer window.
Although Rangers also have Antonio Colak, Fashion Sakala and Kemar Roofe as striker options, alongside Morelos, Michael Beale is keen to add reinforcements in that area.
In other news, according to sources, Spanish club make moves to sign Rangers star Alfredo Morelos as approach made.
