Sources: Leeds United well placed to sign Moussa Dembele if they escape relegation
Moussa Dembele is set for a move to the Premier League this summer and is on Leeds United’s radar if they escape relegation, sources have told Football Insider.
Dembele, 26, is out of contract at Lyon at the end of the season and could make a switch to the English top flight.
The forward is wanted by Leeds as well as their fellow relegation contenders Southampton, but any potential deal is dependent on them both staying in the Premier League.
It is believed that Leeds are ahead of Southampton in the running and are regarded as a more likely destination for the former Celtic and Fulham star.
The striker has made 17 Ligue 1 appearances for Lyon this season and has started just seven of those matches and has scored three goals.
Dembele started his career at Paris Saint-Germain in their youth system before swapping France for England and joining Fulham.

In 2016, the Frenchman joined Celtic where he quickly became a fan favourite, scoring 51 goals in 94 appearances for the Glasgow giants.
Dembele returned to France in 2018 but has not quite hit the heights many Hoops fans expected.
Leeds will be hoping to add the striker to their ranks in the summer but sources have told Football Insider that is contingent on them avoiding relegation.
The Whites are currently 19th in the Premier League table, just one point clear of last-placed Southampton and are winless in their last five games.
The Yorkshire club have struggled up front in recent seasons.
First choice striker Patrick Bamford has been plagued by injuries and has found it difficult to make a mark on the English top flight this season having scored just one goal in 16 appearances.
Leeds added to their firepower up front by signing striker Georginio Rutter in the winter window on a five-year contract but are still looking for reinforcements.
