Sources: Major update on Romelu Lukaku's Chelsea future
Romelu Lukaku wants to leave Chelsea this summer, sources have told Football Insider.
The Blues have held talks with Inter Milan today over a potential move for Lukaku after a disappointing return to Stamford Bridge.
The 30-year-old has his heart set on a move back to Inter despite leaving them to re-join Chelsea back in 2021.
The striker’s current contract at Stamford Bridge runs until 2026 after he arrived from the Serie A side for a reported fee of £97.5million.
But Lukaku spent the 2022-23 season on loan back in Milan after a disappointing start to his London return.
The Belgium international netted 14 goals across 37 appearances for the Serie A side, including three in a Champions League campaign that saw them reach the final only to be narrowly beaten by Man City.

As quoted by the Daily Mail (8 June), Inter chief executive Giuseppe Marotta said Lukaku is a “good player” and an “excellent professional”.
Marotta admitted the forward will return to England following the expiry of his loan but the Italian club is unsure on his future.
On Wednesday (14 June), Football Insider revealed that Lukaku is one of three big names that Mauricio Pochettino’s side are willing to offer in a swap deal of Inter keeper Andre Onana.
It is believed £43m would be enough to get a deal over the line for Onana and Chelsea would be willing to include Lukaku, Kalidou Koulibaly and Trevoh Chalobah as part of it.
