Sources: Man United in pole position to sign Andre Onana after new talks amid 'huge' Ten Hag reveal

Man United are in pole position to sign Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana for around £50million after new talks with his camp, sources have told Football Insider.

The Red Devils are keen to add a goalkeeper to their squad this summer amid doubts over the future of David De Gea.

An exit for the long-serving Spaniard would leave Man United with Dean Henderson and 37-year-old Tom Heaton between the sticks.

However, there is a belief within the recruitment team at Old Trafford that a deal can be struck for Onana at around £50million.

The 27-year-old is keen on a potential move to Man United.

Chelsea have spoken with Inter Milan side regarding Onana but have not yet progressed in negotiations.

It is understood that the Blues are keeping the situation under observation and are not yet out of the race to land the goalkeeper.

The Cameroon international has been attracting interest after a stellar season in Italy and helping his side to the Champions League final.

A well-placed source has told Football Insider a reunion is something Onana is very keen on – a revelation that has put Man United at the front of the queue for his signature after “positive discussions” between all parties.

Man United manager Erik Ten Hag is a “huge” fan of Onana and has a strong relationship with him after their previous partnership at Ajax.

The Red Devils are expected to push on with signings over the next couple of weeks and hope to add at least four players to the squad this summer.

Onana made 41 appearances for Inter last season and has been capped 34 times for Cameroon.

The Italian giants are braced for offers for several of their stars following their European exploits – with Lautaro Martinez, Nicolo Barella and Alessandro Bastoni joining their goalkeeper in attracting strong interest.
