Celtic to step up Kyogo talks when he returns from Japan - sources
Celtic will continue talks over a new deal for striker Kyogo Furuhashi once he returns from his break in Japan, sources have told Football Insider.
The Glasgow giants are keen to tie down their star player to a new and improved agreement amid persistent links with Premier League clubs.
Football Insider revealed on 7th June that Celtic had opened negotiations with Furuhashi, 28, over a new deal.
Celtic have him tied down on a deal until 2025 and there is no release clause – but the club are keen to offer him an improved contract that keeps him for at least another year.
The Japanese front man has interest from Premier League trio Nottingham Forest, Bournemouth and Crystal Palace as well as Serie A and Bundesliga clubs.
On Wednesday (28 June), Football Insider revealed that the Hoops will demand £25million from any club interested in the Japan international this summer.
The Scottish Football player of the year scored 34 times in the 2022-23 campaign and was the standout player for Celtic in their treble-winning campaign.

Football Insider has learned that Furuhashi has been stung by Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham move – but is happy in Glasgow and won’t rush into any decision over the coming weeks.
Celtic could face losing several key men this summer with high interest in the likes of Reo Hatate and Matt O’Riley – so are keen to try and tie down as many of their side as possible.
16-cap Japan star Furuhashi joined the club in the summer of 2021 and has gone on to score 54 goals in only 83 appearances.
