Arsenal reach full agreements on two new signings - sources

Arsenal are set to complete deals for both Declan Rice and Jurrien Timber this week, sources have told Football Insider.

Rice is preparing to put pen to paper on a long-term contract with the Gunners, who have agreed a deal with West Ham in the region of £105million.

Timber has also agreed personal terms with Mikel Arteta’s side and is set to sign on a long-term deal.

Arteta’s side are set to pay Ajax £40m plus add-ons to secure the defender’s services.

On 25 June, Football Insider revealed that Arsenal had verbally agreed personal terms with both Rice and Timber and were continuing talks with West Ham and Ajax but they have now reached full agreements with both players.

Rice, 24, has entered the final year of his contract at the London Stadium whilst Timber, 22, has two years left on his deal with Ajax.

As both deals edge closer to completion, the £40m-plus fee for Timber would take the London club’s summer transfer spend beyond the £200m mark.

Arteta’s side have already confirmed the signing of Kai Havertz from Chelsea for a fee of around £65m and are preparing to make way for their second and third arrivals of the summer.

The Londoners are preparing to mount a challenge against Man City once again after narrowly losing out on the 2022-23 Premier League title to Pep Guardiola’s side.

Arsenal spent a total of 248 days at the top of the league only for the Sky Blues to surpass them in the final few weeks of the season and clinch the crown with two games to spare.
