Kieran Maguire: Arsenal have just landed 'tier one' deal after £50m agreement struck
Arsenal have secured a ‘tier one’ sponsorship partner by rolling over their agreement with Emirates this summer.
That is the view of finance expert Kieran Maguire, who exclusively told Football Insider that the Gunners can attract marquee sponsors thanks to their global fanbase.
Arsenal announced on Wednesday (2 August) that they have extended their front-of-shirt sponsorship agreement with Emirates until 2028.
The North London club first partnered with the United Arab Emirates airline company in 2006, and their new extension takes their partnership to a minimum of 22 years.
Emirates also pay to secure the naming rights of Arsenal’s stadium, although their front-of-shirt deal remains separate.
Football Insider revealed on 1 August that the Gunners were in advanced talks for the deal, which is worth £50million per year.

Their front-of-shirt deal takes them level with Liverpool’s Standard Chartered deal which is also worth £50million annually.
Maguire believes having a ‘tier one’ sponsorship partner will help Arsenal thrive under the new Champions League format and regulations.
“You have only got to set foot overseas to see the number of Arsenal shirts being sold,” Maguire told Football Insider’s Sean Fisher.
“The club does have a global fanbase so therefore rolling over the Emirates deal makes a lot of sense.
“The size of the deal is further indication that while fans were frustrated over a few years of not qualifying for the Champions League, Arsenal are on their way back to the top.
“With the new Champions League format being introduced, having a tier-one sponsor such as Emirates is certainly the way to go.“
