Rangers news: 'Something isn't right' with Aaron Ramsey after latest news - McLeish
Alex McLeish has insisted “something is not right” with Aaron Ramsey despite his return to the Rangers bench this week.
The former Gers boss, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, insisted the 31-year-old has been a “big loss” for Giovanni van Bronckhorst after being sidelined with a muscular injury.
The Wales international was left unused on the bench against Aberdeen on Saturday.
Speaking at his press conference on Wednesday (9 March), Van Bronckhorst confirmed Ramsey will be in the squad against Red Star Belgrade tonight but will not start.
McLeish admitted it was “bizarre” the midfielder did not come off the bench against the Dons.
He suggested the loanee is still not at “100 per cent”.

McLeish told Football Insider’s Russell Edge: “I don’t know when Ramsey’s going to come in for goodness sake. That’s really frustrating, not only for Rangers fans but Ramsey himself and the manager.
“We’re wondering where Ramsey is. He’s been key over the years of keeping teams’ wheels moving, the oil in the engine. It’s a big loss to have them.
“It just smacks of, possibly, something not being quite 100 per cent due to the fact that he never came off the bench. That did seem a little bit bizarre that we never saw him getting any minutes.
“I find it strange when he’s on the bench and he didn’t come on. Something doesn’t seem 100 per cent at the moment. Hopefully, we’ll see him sooner rather than later.”
Ramsey has only played four times for Rangers since his loan move from Juventus.
His longest runout was the 61 minutes he played against Annan Athletic in the Scottish Cup.
