Tottenham insider tips Celtic to sign Carter-Vickers for £2.5m after 'ridiculous' reports
Celtic could secure the permanent signing of Cameron Carter-Vickers from Tottenham for as little as £2.5million in January.
That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.
As quoted by the Scottish Sun on Saturday (25 December), Ange Postecoglou confirmed he wants to tie Carter-Vickers down next month after joining on an initial loan this summer.
The Australian boss revealed he initially tried to sign the defender permanently but time restraints meant a loan was agreed.
Wenham has previously suggested (6 December) Carter-Vickers could be signed for as little as £3million.
He insists the asking price will only ever be lower than £3million.

“I keep seeing reports that seem to be pulling fees out of thin air,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“It was £10million a few weeks ago and that, frankly, is ridiculous.
“Even with Cameron playing so well at Celtic there is no way we can be demanding that much money for him.
“I saw another report claiming we could get £6million for him. Again, I don’t think that’s right.
“We wouldn’t demand that and Celtic couldn’t pay it. I said £3million is more likely a few weeks ago. That’s a brilliant deal for everyone.
“It could be as low as £2.5million. It’s inconsequential to us in the grand scheme of things.
“I just want to see him do well away from Tottenham. It’s an easy deal to do.”
Carter Vickers has played 23 times for Celtic since joining on loan.
That is 18 more appearances than he has made for Spurs.
