Antonio Conte cited amid 'remarkable' Newcastle United claim - pundit
Eddie Howe deserves more credit for the “remarkable” job he is doing at Newcastle United.
That is according to Spurs expert John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.
When Howe took over at Newcastle in November 2021, the club were winless and rock bottom of the Premier League.
They now sit third in the Premier League after reaching 19 games this season, the halfway point of the campaign.
It is unknown how long Howe is contracted for at St James’ Park after he signed a “long-term” new contract on the eve of the 2022-23 season with the club not confirming the length of the deal.
“Once again I want to say how good of a job Howe has done,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“A lot of people are writing it off as a result of the money, but that’s not quite true. look at the turnaround of the players, people like Joelinton, Almiron, Longstaff, it’s remarkable.
“He has a blank club to work with. Everything can go through him. Some people said Howe isn’t the long-term option for them, I remember people saying that when he came in.
“Who looks at a seven-foot tall centre-back and thinks he would be good at left-back? Eddie Howe does.
“Then he makes him one of the best left-backs in the league this season.
“I just wish Conte was able to do that with players.”
