Pundit issues 'phenomenal' Anthony Gordon claim as 'big' Newcastle United prediction made
Anthony Gordon will prove to be a success for Newcastle United despite questions over his attitude.
That is according to Spurs expert John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.
Newcastle announced the signing of Gordion from Everton on 30 January.
This came after Gordon told Everton he wanted to leave the club before the January window shut and missed multiple days of training before handing in a transfer request.
Despite questions over his attitude, Wenham insists Gordon will prove to be a successful signing for the Magpies.
“He was very, very good last season, that’s why Chelsea offered £60million in the summer,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“For me, I think it’s a very good buy for Newcastle. It continues the improvement of the squad. For me, on paper, he is a phenomenal improvement on Ryan Fraser.
“A phenomenal improvement straight away. I don’t know what is going on with Saint-Maximin, he’s in, out, not starting games, starting games, so for me Gordon will establish himself very quickly.
“He is a young English player and if Newcastle are going to grow in the big way they want to then they need homegrown players, he ticks that box for the next decade.
“It’s a sensible signing. Someone who is Premier League proven and young. It’s a very good signing.”
Gordon fell out of favour towards the end of his Everton career, failing to start any of his last three games for the club.
He has scored three league goals this term.
