Pundit shares 'incredible' Anthony Gordon verdict after 'huge' Newcastle United development
Anthony Gordon can unleash his “incredible” potential at Newcastle United thanks to Eddie Howe.
That is according to Spurs expert John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.
Newcastle announced the signing of Gordon from Everton on 30 January.
The 21-year-old made his Magpies debut in Saturday’s (4 February) draw with West Ham, replacing Allan Saint-Maximin with 20 minutes to go.
Wenham insists Newcastle is the best place for Gordon at this stage in his career.
“It’s a huge signing. What you have with Gordon is raw potential,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“He has so much ability but he doesn’t make the right decisions sometimes but that will come with experience.
“This guy has one full season of top-flight football under his belt. He needs game time and he will get that at Newcastle.
“I just think about Eddie Howe. You look at what he has done to players like Joelinton, Almiron and Burn. They are levels above where they were when he arrived last season.
“You have a manager there who knows how to mould this incredible potential into a footballer who regularly produces.
“I can’t think of a better place for Gordon to be right now. I think it was the right move and I think we will see a rapid improvement in his output once he has settled in.”
Gordon fell out of favour towards the end of his Everton career, failing to start any of his last three games for the club.
He has scored three league goals this term.
