Expert predicts new Tottenham-Chelsea relationship after deadline day deal done
Tottenham and Chelsea have struck up a new relationship that could see more deals done between the clubs.
That is according to Spurs expert John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.
Tottenham confirmed Jude Soonsup-Bell, 19, had joined the club’s development squad from Chelsea on deadline day (31 January).
In recent years, Chelsea and Tottenham have failed to conduct transfer business with each other due to strained relationships at the boardroom level.
Wenham claims the signing of Soonsup-Bell won’t be the last deal the clubs do.
“One thing this is a sign of is the growing relationship between Chelsea and Tottenham at the boardroom level,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“It wasn’t that long ago I was saying we were more likely to sign Michael Jackson than a player from Chelsea.
“Now that seems to have totally repaired. You look at the record signing of Beth England for the women’s team as a prime example of that.
“I know that Andriy Shevchenko’s son was on trial at Tottenham and that was approved by Chelsea. They have subsequently chosen not to sing him but that’s a different story.
“I just think this wouldn’t have happened if Bruce Buck and Roman Abramovich were still there. It was Buck who Levy had issues with, not Abramovich, but they come as a two.
“That’s an interesting angle that could lead to more deals being done between the clubs in the future.”
Tottenham’s women’s team announced the signing of Beth England from Chelsea on 4 January.
Sky Sports report the deal broke the British transfer record for women’s football.
In other news, a pundit has claimed Tottenham are ‘laying the groundwork’ for Hugo Lloris upgrade as £44m deal is agreed.
