Pundit rips into 'terrible' Liverpool stars after 'embarrassing' development
Joel Matip and his defensive teammates at Liverpool must take the blame for the club’s recent run of poor results.
That is according to Spurs expert John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.
Liverpool fell to a 3-0 loss against Wolves on Saturday (4 February) leaving the club with only one win in their last five games in all competitions.
Wenham can’t believe how badly some of Liverpool’s players are performing.
“Honestly, the goals they conceded to a poor Wolves team were so poor,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“It was really, really awful from Liverpool, embarrassing. When is the good Liverpool going to come back? They turned up at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and it’s the only away win they have had all season.

“It’s insane, of course we have that Liverpool turn up. Everton will be fancying their chances against Liverpool next week now.
“How much longer is Van Dijk out for? Actually, even with him in there it doesn’t seem to make that much of a difference.
“He seems to have never got back to his best after that injury. Matip is so poor. Konate looks like he could be a good player but he is injured.
“Joe Gomez is not good enough, the midfield is terrible, it’s really, really, worrying for them. Where are they going to end up this season?
“Most fans want the season to end, they have no chance of getting past Real Madrid over two legs in the Champions League.
“They are out of both cups too, they aren’t going to get into the top four either. It’s not looking good.”
