Leeds United slammed by pundit amid manager hunt latest - 'crazy decision'
Leeds United should not have sacked Jesse Marsch after backing him so heavily in the transfer market.
That is according to Spurs expert John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.
On Monday (6 February) Leeds sacked Marsch with the club only out of the relegation zone on goal difference.
As per Sky Sports (6 February), the Whites had backed the American with £140million worth of transfers during his time at the club including a club-record spend on Georginio Rutter last month.
Wenham has been left baffled by the decision to sack Marsch.
“Why would you sack him? It just doesn’t make sense to me,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“Leeds spent all summer buying players that Marsch knows, players who fit into his specific system, so they clearly knew this was a bit of a project.
“They also backed him in January and broke the club’s record fee to sign Rutter. They also signed McKennie from Juventus which could be a big signing it if is made permanent.
“To just sack him a few days after that makes absolutely no sense to me? What were they expecting? You can’t give a manager the backing then immediately bottle it when they lose a game.
“He’s barely had any time. I don’t know how you can make that decision. Now you have to appoint a manager who has a load of players who were signed to play in a specific system.
“So if this new manager wants to play a different way then you have to overhaul the squad again.
“It’s a crazy decision.”
