Tottenham expert issues 'huge' Djed Spence verdict after footage emerges
Djed Spence’s loan to Stade Rennais may end up more successful for Tottenham than initially thought after a strong start to life in France.
That is according to Tottenham expert John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.
Spence, 22, joined Stade Rennais on deadline day (31 January) after failing to impress Antonio Conte during the first half of the season.
The right-back failed to start a game for Spurs during the first half of the season and was limited to cameo appearances in the Premier League.
However, he started for Rennes at the first available opportunity, playing 84 minutes in a 3-1 loss to Lille on Saturday (4 February).
Wenham was delighetd with the wing-back’s performance.

“It was Djed Spence doing the Djed Spence thing we know he can do,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“He was attacking and bombing up the lines for everyone to see. That’s what you expect from Spence having watched him play in the Championship and for England.
“There was a clip of him doing the rounds on social media where he bombed down the line and put a cracking ball nito the box that unfortuantely the striker couln’t get on the end of.
“He seems to have instantly cemented himself and there were some hugely promising comments from the head coach after the game as well.
“The fans seem to love him as well so from a first impression it looks like it could be a good loan for him.
“I do still wish he had joined a Premier League club but that’s irrelevant now.”
