Man United told to pull Denzel Dumfries U-turn after £35m talks update - pundit
Noel Whelan has suggested Man United shouldn’t make any “rash” moves for Denzel Dumfries this month after the recent form of Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
The former Leeds striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claimed Wan-Bissaka has been a “big part” of the Old Trafford club’s recent surge into title contention.
According to Italian outlet Tuttomercato (16 January), Man United have opened talks with Inter Milan over the signing of Dumfries but are yet to make an official proposal.
The report claims Inter will hold out for £35million for the right-back – who has impressed for the Netherlands at the last two major tournaments.
Wan-Bissaka has impressed for Erik ten Hag’s side in the absence of Diogo Dalot – starting every single Premier League match since the World Cup.
The Red Devils star, who is under contract for 18 more months, was linked with a move to Wolves and West Ham prior to the January window.

Whelan told Football Insider’s Ewan Kingsbury: “I think Wan-Bissaka has earned the rest of this season.
“I can’t see any rash decisions being made after what he’s shown recently.
“He’s reacted exactly the right way and shown what Ten Hag has wanted.
“That just proves that the manager is getting the right type of reaction from the players – rather than them spitting their dummies out.
“Ten Hag is a really strong character, and he’s getting his rewards with Wan-Bissaka now.
“They look hard to beat and hard to play against, and he’s been a big part of that.”
