Revealed: Liverpool on course to make 'phenomenal' £550m+ announcement
Liverpool are well on course to announce record revenues beyond the £550million mark for the current campaign, Football Insider understands.
The new EFL Cup champions posted their latest set of financial results last week for the year ending 31 May 2021 and which showed total turnover down £3m to £487m.
Analysis from Football Insider has found that revenues are in line to break the club’s £533m pre-pandemic record for the 2021-22 campaign.
The final figure will depend upon how many matches Liverpool play at home and, most significantly, how far they progress in the moneyspinning Champions League.
Should Jurgen Klopp’s side go on to repeat their 2018-19 triumph and win the competition, then revenues could rocket towards the £600m mark.
Even without that, then the turnover should soar past £550m, which would be a club record and, as one financial source, remarked, be a “phenomenal” figure.

Liverpool’s latest annual report for the 2020-21 season, most of which was played behind closed doors, showed their revenue was £487m.
The first full year of financial results impacted by the Covid pandemic reveals matchday revenue fell from £70m to £3m, a drop of 95 per cent.
This meant that they made an overall loss of £5m for last season, a small figure compared to most Premier League clubs.
However, Liverpool are well placed to announce a healthy profit for the current campaign.
This will see the club return to announcing a big profit, as they did for the three seasons preceding the pandemic.
Liverpool have already won one trophy and are well placed to compete strongly on three other fronts in the Premier League, Champions League and FA Cup.
