Liverpool star Sadio Mane fears FSG 'want him out' after 'huge' development - Sources
Liverpool superstar Sadio Mane fears the club’s owners Fenway Sports Group “want him out” amid his ongoing contract stalemate, Football Insider understands.
The Senegal international, who turns 30 next month, has yet to agree an extension to his current deal expiring in the summer of 2023.
A recruitment source has told Football Insider that Mane had hoped to have secured his future by now and believes the quality of his performances this season have vindicated a big-money new deal.
But he instead fears FSG “want him out” and are happy to cash in on him this summer, which is the last realistic chance of securing a significant fee.
The club’s America-based owners are instead concentrating on agreeing an extension with Mane’s fellow superstar forward Mohamed Salah.
The “huge” combination of silence from FSG as well as the £50million late-January signing of Luis Diaz has, the source added, suggested to Mane that he does not figure prominently in the club’s forward planning.

He has remained a virtual untouchable in the starting XI, albeit operating centrally in recent matches due to Diaz taking over on the left flank and injuries to Diogo Jota and Roberto Firmino.
But Mane was visibly angry when he was substituted after 80 minutes of last Sunday’s EFL Cup final and replaced by Jota.
His current deal, signed in November 2018, runs until the summer of 2023.
The wide forward will have turned 31 by that point but a new deal would effectively see him ending his career at Anfield.
Mane has scored 13 goals and supplied two assists from 32 matches in all competitions this season.
The former Southampton man has been a virtual ever-present in the Liverpool side since joining in the summer of 2016.
He has scored 110 goals and provided 45 assists from 250 matches for the Reds, and was beaten only by Lionel Messi, teammate Virgil van Dijk and Cristiano Ronaldo in the 2019 Ballon D’Or.
