Everton news: Allan 'hasn't got any legs' and 'couldn't catch my kids' - Agbonlahor

Gabby Agbonlahor has claimed his kids are faster than Allan and his lack of pace is a serious problem for Everton.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England attacker also admitted it is “strange” Dele Alli is yet to start a game for the club and Donny van de Beek is showing why he was not wanted at Man United.

Allan and Van De Beek started in a three-man midfield alongside Abdoulaye Doucoure in Everton’s 5-0 humiliation at Tottenham on Monday night (7 March).

Dele replaced Van De Beek for the final 20 minutes at his former club when his new side had no hope of getting back into the game.

“It’s a bit strange that Dele Alli hasn’t started a game yet,” Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.

“Even when he came on it didn’t look like he had anything to offer. It’s a bit of a worry.

“Frank Lampard will look at Van De Beek as well, after that performance you can see why Man United didn’t play him much. He was very poor, playing sidewards whenever he got the ball and not playing forwards.

“There are a lot of problems at Everton. Allan as well. He hasn’t got any legs, he couldn’t catch my kids if they were running. I’ve never seen a defensive midfielder so slow.

“They are a very bang average side and it’s going to be a long end to the season for them.”

Monday’s result leaves Everton teetering on the edge of the relegation places.

Lampard’s side are down in 17th-place just a point above the bottom three but they have at least one game in hand over those below them.
