Jarrod Bowen: Pundit issues 'massive' West Ham claim after latest

West Ham have been hit by a “massive” blow after it was reported Jarrod Bowen could miss a handful of games, according to Gabby Agbonlahor.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England attacker claimed Sevilla will beat West Ham on Thursday night (11 March) with Bowen out.

The Athletic reported on Monday (7 March) the Englishman will miss the trip to Spain as well as the Hammers’ clash with Aston Villa on Sunday (13 March).

David Moyes’ side go into their Europa League clash with Sevilla on a run of just one win in their last five games across all competitions.

Their latest defeat came on Saturday (5 March) when they lost 1-0 to Liverpool at Anfield.

“West Ham were just very poor at finishing, that’s what it was,” Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.

“You look at Manuel Lanzini’s chance and I don’t know how he’s missed that. I don’t know how that’s possible.

“West Ham played well but you’ve got to take your chances. That’s the difference between the top clubs and clubs like West Ham, they take their chances, as Liverpool did.

“They are still over-reliant on Bowen and Antonio. I think the season will now fizzle out for them.

“Bowen’s a massive player. Without him, you can see them struggling against Sevilla. I think Sevilla will be too much of a test for them.

“The thing with West Ham is they lack pace. If Antonio is marked, there are no other pacy players.

“Not bringing players in during the January window will cost them.”
