Liverpool news: Jurgen Klopp told to 'get on with it' after 'horrible' news in last 48 hours - pundit
Gabby Agbonlahor has told Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp to “get on with it” after he reiterated his wish for the Premier League to reintroduce five substitutes.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England attacker claimed it was Klopp’s “problem” because Liverpool had been so successful and the majority of other Premier League clubs are not bothered.
As quoted by ESPN on Monday (7 March), the German insisted the top clubs needed five subs because of their “horrible” schedule.
The Premier League introduced the change temporarily when football restarted after the coronavirus lockdown in June 2020.
It reverted back to three subs at the beginning of last season but in domestic cup competitions and European competitions, Liverpool allowed five subs.
Asked whether he thought the Premier League should have five substitutes, Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: “I don’t think so, no.

“It’s been three subs for ages now, just get on with it. It’s always been like this, just get on with it and stop trying to change things.
“Just because you’ve got so many players now and you’re in so many competitions, that’s your problem for being so successful.
“Other teams who are playing once a week, they don’t need five subs.
“I think it should stay as it’s always been.”
In their 1-0 loss to Inter Milan on Tuesday night (8 March), the Reds only used three of their allowed five subs.
Liverpool are next in action on Saturday (12 March) when they host Brighton & Hove Albion in the Premier League’s lunchtime kick-off.
In other news, it can be revealed Liverpool are on course to make a “phenomenal” £550million announcement.
