Rangnick told to rectify 'ridiculous' Man United move and recall 'world-class' Cavani - pundit
Ralf Rangnick should start Ronaldo and Edinson Cavani up front to improve results at Man United.
That’s according to former West Ham hitman Frank McAvennie, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the German’s plans for the Red Devils.
Man United confirmed the appointment of Rangnick as interim manager until the end of the season on Monday (29 November).
On 31 October, McAvennie complained about Cavani’s “shocking” treatment under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
He insists Cavani and Ronaldo should lead the line for Man United under Rangnick.
“Rangnick will know who his best players are,” McAvennie told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“They have been struggling without an out and out striker. There is a world-class striker on the bench.
“I have been campaigning for Cavani to start for ages now. He scored 17 goals and got 10 assists last season.
“Man United have been crying out for that kind of striker, they have one.
“It’s ridiculous how Ole kept him on the sidelines. I still can’t believe it.
“You put Ronaldo up top with Cavani and you will score goals, it’s that simple.
“If Rangnick has anything about him, he will know that. It’s so obvious.”
Cavani has made eight appearances in all competitions for Manchester United this season and scored one goal.
Ronaldo has scored 10 goals in 16 games since rejoining the club from Juventus last summer (2021).
