Pundit shares 'incredible' verdict on Potter replacing Benitez at Everton after source's update
Graham Potter would not leave Brighton to replace Rafael Benitez at Everton.
That is the view of former Spurs and England number one Paul Robinson, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about a potential manager change at Goodison Park.
An Everton source has told Football Insider (1 December) that the club could sack Benitez or Marcel Brands by the end of the week after a run dismal run of form.
Brighton manager Graham Potter was discussed as a potential candidate to replace Carlo Ancelotti but the Toffees instead appointed Benitez.
Potter has enjoyed an excellent start to the season with the Seagulls.
However, as quoted by BBC (28 November), Potter was angered and “perplexed” when fans booed after the full-time whistle of Saturday’s goalless draw with Leeds.

When asked by Football Insider if a situation could arise where Potter leaves Brighton to replace Benitez, Robinson said:
“Benitez was fighting against the wind before he started. A lot of Everton fans did not want him there in the first place. It was going to have to go very well to make Goodison Park a harmonious place.
“The way managers are hired and fired, it would not be a surprise if Benitez goes before Christmas.
“I don’t think Graham Potter would be tempted to leave Brighton though. He has done a phenomenal job there.
“Yes, the fans booed after the Leeds game but I can see it from both angles.
“Firstly, what do Brighton fans expect? They are in the top half of the table having spent part of the season in the top six. They have had a great start to the season so I can see the manager’s point.
“From the fans point of view, I think they were just disappointed not to win that game because they had the chances to do so. It was more frustration with the result than the manager.
“Potter has done an incredible job there.”
