Pundit on 'game-changing' Luis Diaz development as new Liverpool injury twist revealed
Kevin Campbell has backed Luis Diaz to be a “game-changer” for Liverpool on his return with the winger ahead of schedule in his injury recovery.
The former Arsenal striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, backed the struggling Merseysiders to return to action “with a bang” with the help of the 25-year-old.
Liverpool sources told this site on Sunday (27 November) that Diaz is ahead of schedule in his knee injury rehabilitation and is on course to make his comeback this month.
The winger returned to Colombia to rehabilitate after suffering the injury in the 3-2 defeat by Arsenal on 9 October but has since returned to England.
Liverpool return to action after the World Cup on 22 December against Man City in the League Cup.
Diaz was a shining light for Jurgen Klopp’s side as the Merseysiders got off to a dismal start to the 2022-23 campaign, contributing four goals and three assists in 12 outings.

Campbell hailed the “quality” former Porto star.
He told Football Insider’s Ewan Kingsbury: “Liverpool will want him to come back and be the standard bearer.
“This break has suited them down to the ground. They’ve had the time to get players like Diaz back and just have a reset after a bad start.
“Liverpool could now start the second half of this season with a bang, and Diaz is a big part of that.
“He’s quality, isn’t he? He can score, assist, and commit defenders.
“Getting him fit could be a game-changer for Liverpool.”
