Christian Pulisic backed to be the 'Newcastle star man' after update - 'let's not forget', says pundit
Kevin Campbell has claimed Christian Pulisic could grow into a “star man” at Newcastle United despite his struggles for game time at Chelsea.
The former Arsenal striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, suggested the 24-year-old has struggled for form at Stamford Bridge due to the “turnover” of managers and players.
The Daily Mirror reported on 11 December that Newcastle are hoping to make Pulisic their next statement signing in the winter window.
The report claims Arsenal and Man United are also interested in the US international – with Chelsea hoping to receive a £40million fee for the winger.
Pulisic grabbed a goal and an assist at the World Cup in Qatar to help his side advance to the last 16, but has seen his opportunities limited under Graham Potter at Chelsea.
He has notched a combined 47 goals and assists for the Blues since joining in a reported £58million deal in 2019.

Campbell told Football Insider’s Ewan Kingsbury: “He’s a great player, and so dynamic.
“Let’s not forget, he’s still so young as well. He came from Dortmund with a great reputation – and he’s someone who can really grow into a key player for Newcastle.
“He’s been involved with Chelsea, winning the Champions League – but he’s not played enough. It’s difficult to really make your mark at Chelsea because of the turnover of players and managers they’ve had.
“Look at the calibre of clubs interested in him. That tells you everything you need to know about Pulisic.
“Newcastle have got an opportunity to get him at a good age and watch him develop into their star man in that forward line.”
