Celtic idol thrilled by Callum McGregor latest as image emerges
Frank McAvennie is delighted to see Callum McGregor back training with Celtic.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Hoops striker has backed McGregor to get game time in the Celts’ friendlies in Australia.
As shown in images shared by PLZ Soccer (16 November), the 29-year-old returned to training on Wednesday (16 November) as the Green and Whites touched down in Sydney for their friendly tournament.
Speaking to club media (16 November), the captain said that he will be joining in a few training sessions throughout the trip as he works on his rehabilitation.
The midfielder has not featured for the Hoops since their trip to Leipzig on 5 October.
McAvennie is thrilled to see the skipper back kicking a ball about.

“He is back training so that is good to see,” he told Football Insider.
I saw a photo of him leading the team round the training pitch and that is great to see. It really is good to see him back in amongst the boys.
“The medical team around him will tell him if he can play or not. It is about four weeks before we start back, he will be ready for the start of the second half.
“What a rest he has had so he will be fully recovered. I would not be surprised if we see him on the pitch in Sydney. Ange [Postecoglou] would not have taken him there for the sake of it.“
