Pundit suggests the real reason for Jack Grealish chaos at Man City - 'all of a sudden'
Frank McAvennie has claimed Jack Grealish struggling to adapt to life at Man City.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former West Ham striker said it will take time for it to sink in that Grealish is not the “top man” like he was at Aston Villa.
As quoted by the Manchester Evening News (10 January) after the 1-0 win over Chelsea, the 27-year-old admitted he found it more difficult than he had anticipated to adapt to Pep Guardiola’s system.
But Guardiola has insisted it is easy to play for his side.
The Sky Blues boss said the way they play is “simple” and said Grealish is “comfortable” with his change of role, insisting his job is “not difficult”.
McAvennie suggested Grealish is struggling come to terms with not being the only “superstar” at the club.

“I think what he is meaning is that he was the top man at Aston Villa,” he told Football Insider.
“He has walked in to Man City and all of a sudden he is not the top man. People do not bother about him, he is not getting all the attention.
“Maybe that took a wee bit to sink in and to realise that you are at one of the biggest clubs in the world. I think he is doing very well.
“I think he has got everything in the right place and I have got nothing but respect for him. I think he is a great player.
“Football is easy, it is only bad coaches that complicate it. I think when he is on the pitch it is easy, it is just the fact that he came to Man City with overwhelming superstars and to play under Pep will take a wee bit of time to sink in.“
