Greg Taylor at risk of Celtic axe after what expert has spotted
Greg Taylor is facing Celtic axe as left-back accused of ignoring Brendan Rodgers.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Hoops striker Frank McAvennie suggested Taylor forgets that he no longer plays under Ange Postecoglou and needs to adapt to Brendan Rodgers’ style sooner rather than later.
Rodgers has only one other option at left-back in Alexandro Bernabei who joined from Lanus last summer.
Bernabei has struggled to break into the first team after Taylor’s impressive upturn in form last term and this year the Argentinian has been left out of the club’s 25-man squad for their upcoming Champions League group stage campaign.
Taylor is the only left-back named in the list ahead of their opener against Feyenoord on Tuesday (19 September).
Before the trip to the Netherlands, the Hoops take on Dundee at Parkhead on Saturday (16 September).

McAvennie urged Taylor to up his game or risk missing out in the future.
“I think he will play Phillips alongside Lagerbielke and I think that partnership could be alright,” he told Football Insider.
“I think he will choose Lagerbielke over Scales at the moment because that is a better fit and with Johnson fit and Taylor in there, that is a decent back four.
“Taylor needs to stop running into midfield because he keeps forgetting that it is not what the manager wants. If he keeps doing it he will not be there for long because Rodgers won’t suffer it.“
Taylor, 25, has two years remaining on his Parkhead contract after joining Celtic in 2019.
The defender has so far made 132 appearances across all competitions, netting five goals.
