McAvennie drops Rangers 'dressing room' claim after money grab

Rangers need to be focused on winning games and not visiting museums.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Celtic striker Frank McAvennie said the Gers need to learn what it means to play for Rangers in the dressing room, not from an exhibition.

As shown on RangersTV (11 September), the squad visited the newly opened museum at Edmiston House before their training session earlier this week.

Michael Beale’s side return to league action on Saturday with a trip to St Johnstone where they will be looking to secure an important three points.

The Light Blues have had an unconvincing start to their Scottish Premiership campaign and have won two out of their four league games so far.

McAvennie said a trip to the museum was the last thing the players need.

I could not believe all that nonsense with them going to the museum,” he told Football Insider.

They need boys in the dressing room to tell them what the club is about they do not need to go to a museum from years ago.

It is about the fans every Monday morning going to work and if you do not do the business for them at the weekend then you are in big trouble and getting pelters, whether they are playing Celtic or not.

Rangers should be doing better than what they are with the money they have spent. It takes a different breed to play for Celtic and Rangers, they demand a win every week so Beale has got one hell of a job to do.
