Pundit shares Leeds United new signing dressing room claim - 'I've heard whispers'
Leeds United coaches have been told to start spreading transfer rumours in the dressing room to transform underachieving players.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former West Ham striker Frank McAvennie urged the staff at Elland Road to create waves in the dressing room by starting rumours about them signing new players to force current players to step up.
The Whites are currently sixth in the Championship with 13 points from eight games so far this season, having only won three of those matches.
The club lost several of their big name players this summer following their relegation to the Championship.
Tyler Adams, Rodrigo, Tyler Roberts, Adam Forshaw and Joel Robles all made permanent moves away from the club.
Robin Koch, Maximilian Wober, Jack Harrison, Luis Sinisterra, Rasmus Kristensen, Marco Roca, Sam Greenwood, Cody Dramed and Sonny Perkins went out on loan for the 2023-24 campaign.

McAvennie insisted there will need to be movement in January if Leeds have any hope of returning to the top flight this year.
“If you let it be known, somebody slips into the dressing room, that they are bringing players in in January you will see that team step up,” he told Football Insider.
“You will see them giving an extra ten per cent because they know they could be out.
“That is all it might take, a little whisper from one of the coaches just to let the dressing room know that they are bringing players in. That could be the difference for them, I have seen it before.“
