Pundit drops 'electrifying' Newcastle United claim amid 'massive' news
PSG may be intimidated by the “electrifying” atmosphere at St James’ Park when they play Newcastle United.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Hoops striker insisted it is a “massive achievement” for Newcastle to have reached the competition so quickly regardless of where they finish in the group.
The Magpies held AC Milan to a 0-0 draw at the San Siro last week in the opening game of their Champions League campaign.
Eddie Howe’s side faced 25 shots in the game in Italy whereas they only managed six shots in the 90 minutes, their only shot on target coming in injury time.
Newcastle welcome French giants Paris Saint-Germain to Tyneside next week for match day two.
“In Europe I thought Newcastle did alright,” he told Football Insider.

“That is a good result away from home. They will be loving it because it is a top team, the players will be loving every minute of it.
“I am very happy with the way Newcastle are playing at the moment. What a game it will be against PSG, they have got a young team so I do not know how it will go.
“These top players have seen everything but when you go out at St James’ Park it is tremendous.
“On a Champions League night, they have not had it for 20-odd years it will be electrifying and that might get to a couple of the young boys at PSG. But just getting to the competition was a massive achievement no matter what happens.“
