Pundit 'electrified' by Newcastle development - 'it will be talked about for 20 years'
Newcastle United’s win over Paris Saint-Germain will be “talked about for the next 20 years”.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former West Ham striker Frank McAvennie was delighted for Eddie Howe and the Newcastle supporters after their incredible victory over PSG.
The Magpies stormed to a 4-1 victory at St James’ Park on Wednesday night (4 October) thanks to goals from Miguel Almiron, Dan Burn, Sean Longstaff, and Fabian Schar.
Howe’s side now sit atop group F with four points from two games after their opening draw with AC Milan next up they welcome Borussia Dortmund to St James’ Park and will hope to maintain their unbeaten run
McAvennie wasn’t surprised to see Newcastle’s Champions League success last night.
“I knew they would have beaten PSG because they have not been playing well,” he told Football Insider.

“[Ousmane] Dembele has not done it since he came from Barcelona. Newcastle are a team, they have not got the individuals like Mbappe, they have not got these big superstars, they have got everyone fighting for each other.
“PSG will never win the Champions League because they do not fight to win the ball back and I knew that Newcastle would.
“There was 20 years of atmosphere in that place last night, it would have been electric, amazing. I am delighted for Newcastle, I am delighted for Eddie Howe. That game will be talked about for 20 years.“
