Kieran Maguire hails Liverpool 'fantastic business' as triple deal agreed
The commercial department at Liverpool deserves a lot of credit for completing a £35million triple deal.
That is the view of finance expert Kieran Maguire, who exclusively told Football Insider that Liverpool have taken advantage of their global fan base to boost commercial income.
The Reds announced a partnership with US-based delivery service UPS on Tuesday (19 September) to round off a busy summer of commercial agreements.
Liverpool also agreed deals with Google Pixel and Peloton this summer, and the Liverpool Echo reported that the three deals will add more than £35million to the club’s commercial revenue.
The Merseyside club posted commercial revenue of £247million in their latest 2021/22 accounts.
Maguire believes the value of the three deals reflects Liverpool’s status as a ‘global phenomenon’.

“I think it is indicative of Liverpool’s status as a global phenomenon as far as sport is concerned,” Maguire told Football Insider’s Sean Fisher.
“They have a huge fan base and they have a huge amount of interest.
“You’ve only got to look at social media when Liverpool are being discussed to see that.
“Therefore tying up deals with blue chip companies and high-profile global organisations is a marrying of minds.
“The sponsors get access to Liverpool’s big fan base, and the club can justify the prices that they’re demanding.
“So I think it’s fantastic business by Liverpool and you’ve got to give a lot of credit to their commercial department.“
