West Ham finalise Mavropanos deal after medical twist - sources
West Ham are set to announce the signing of Stuttgart defender Konstantinos Mavropanos in the next 24 hours, sources have told Football Insider.
The centre-back, 25, has completed an Irons medical and speculation that he has failed it are believed to be unsubstantiated.
West Ham have a full agreement in place with the player and German club Stuttgart but are just finalising minor paperwork details before the deal is signed off.
Mavropanos will cost the Irons £17m after David Moyes authorised a signing that will provide cover and competition for first-choice centre backs Kurt Zouma and Nayef Aguerd.
Mavropanos was present at the club’s 3-1 win over Chelsea at the London Stadium on Sunday, alongside technical director Tim Steidten.
He is set to become West Ham’s third capture of the summer, following deals for Edson Alvarez and James Ward-Prowse, taking the total spending to around £82m.

Mavropanos still has two years remaining on his Stuttgart contract after he joined from Arsenal last summer.
The 25-year-old spent four years with the Gunners but was sent out on loan for the majority of his time at the Emirates and ultimately made just eight appearances for the first team.
The Greece international made 34 appearances for Stuttgart across all competitions last term, netting three goals and offering up one assist in those outings.
The Hammers are closing in on Ajax star Mohammed Kudus and Football Insider revealed (22 August) that they are se to increase their offer.
