McAvennie 'laughing' at Kemar Roofe as new Rangers details emerge
Kemar Roofe deserves more respect for his honesty about ‘boring’ Rangers performances.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Celtic striker Frank McAvennie said it was hilarious that Roofe told Gers fans they were allowed to boo the teams’ performance against Motherwell last weekend.
Michael Beale’s side beat Motherwell 1-0 at Ibrox last weekend in a tightly fought contest between the sides following which the Gers booed off the park.
Speaking after the game (26 September), Roofe suggested that fans are allowed to boo the players because the performances have been so boring.
The Gers striker urged his side to put on performances that will excited the supporters in the stands.
Rangers beat Livingston 4-0 on Wednesday (27 September) to progress to the semi-final of the Viaplay Cup, a competition that their Glasgow rivals Celtic have already been knocked out of.

Beale’s side face Hearts in the penultimate round of the competition on 5 November.
When asked what he made of the performance against David Martindale’s side, McAvennie told Football Insider: “At least they never got booed off.
“The tide is not turning because they were not good the other night. They have got players there that should be doing better.
“I had to laugh at Kemar Roofe telling fans they were allowed to boo because the football was boring. That is the kind of thing I would have come out with when I was playing.
“You have got to respect him being a bit more honest.“
