Sources: Liverpool prioritise Andre deal in January after bid submitted

Liverpool remain keen on a move for Fluminense midfielder Andre ahead of the January window, sources have told Football Insider.

The Reds underwent a major midfield rebuild during the summer – but the changes are not over yet, with the 22-year-old expected to be the subject of another bid in the winter.

Football Insider revealed in August that Liverpool have seen multiple bids for Fluminense’s Andre rejected.

But the Merseysiders have not given up hope of landing the midfielder and will push again in January.

Football Insider revealed on Monday (9 October) that Liverpool are not likely to splash out on a move for Bayer Leverkusen defender Piero Hincapie as they are set to prioritise a move for Andre.

Fluminense were keen to keep the midfielder until the mid-season window as they look to win a historic first-ever Copa Libertadores title.

They have since reached the final of the competition, which will be contested against Argentine giants Boca Juniors on 4 November in Brazil.

Andre has racked up 48 appearances across all competitions this year, scoring once – with the Brazillian season not set to end until December.

He has racked up 156 games in total for boyhood club Fluminense since making his professional debut in September 2020.

The 22-year-old is under contract until December 2026.

Andre made his senior debut for Brazil earlier this year against Senegal and was part of the squad for their fixtures last month.

Liverpool, who sit fourth in the Premier League, signed midfielders Wataru Endo, Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai and Ryan Gravenberch in the summer window.
