Sources: Major Rangers manager update after Graham Potter move
Graham Potter is holding out for an offer from a Champions League calibre club after being sounded out by Rangers to replace Michael Beale, sources have told Football Insider.
The former Chelsea and Brighton boss, 48, is the top target for the Ibrox giants as they explore potential replacements for their under-fire manager.
Football Insider exclusively revealed on 8th September that Rangers had made an approach to Potter in the wake of a calamitous week that ended in Old Firm defeat to Celtic.
But Potter is biding his time before returning to management after offers from a number of clubs since his Chelsea sacking in April.
He held talks over the Lyon job before pulling out and snubbed offers from Southampton and Leicester City during the summer.
Potters believes his CV deserves a job at an elite club who are in the Champions League or capable of reaching that level.

Beale has been manager of Rangers since November 2022 and his current deal with the club runs until 2026.
Beale has won 26 of the 37 games as Gers boss but poor results in recent weeks, including the home defeat to Celtic and Champions League elimination, have the board questioning his long-term suitability.
Potter burnished his reputation at Brighton and was headhunted by Chelsea before taking over in September last year, replacing Thomas Tuchel at the helm.
The 48-year-old was in charge of the team for just under seven months and was in the dugout for 31 matches.
Potter’s record was unimpressive before his dismissal with just 12 wins, eight draws and 11 defeats from those games.
