Sources: Reggie Cannon passes QPR medical and agrees four-year deal
QPR have agreed a deal to sign USA international Reggie Cannon on a free transfer, sources have told Football Insider.
The 26-year-old has agreed a four-year deal with Queen’s Park Rangers and has already passed his medical.
Cannon is a free agent after cancelling his contract at Portuguese club Boavista earlier this summer following a dispute over alleged unpaid wages.
QPR boss Gareth Ainsworth has been keen to bring in a right-back for some time with just one current, natural right-sided defender within his ranks.
Osman Kakay has made eight appearances for the Championship club this season for a total of 700 minutes of playing time.
Kakay has been in the starting XI for all of QPR’s fixtures so far this season and has played the full 90 minutes in every league game so far.

Ainsworth does have other defensive options to call upon but lost favoured right-back Ethan Laird to fellow second tier side Birmingham City this summer.
Cannon made 89 appearances for the Liga Portugal club and offered up one assist in the three years he spent in Europe.
The defender has featured heavily for the USA international team after receiving his first call up back in 2018 when he was just 20 years old.
Since then, Cannon has gone on to earn 28 caps for his national side but was excluded from the squad for all of their 2022 World Cup matches where they reached the Round of 16.
