Sources: Alexander-Arnold close to agreeing £55m+ Liverpool deal
Liverpool have agreed a deal in principle over a new contract with Trent Alexander-Arnold worth more that £55million, sources have told Football Insider.
The new package will see Alexander-Arnold earning more than £200,000 per-week plus bonuses and is expected to be signed off soon.
On 29 September, Football Insider revealed that the Reds have been putting the finishing touches on a new deal for the 24-year-old after securing an “agreement in principle” a week previous.
Liverpool have made significant progress on a new long-term deal for the defender, whose current agreement expires in 2025.
Clubs chiefs have been working alongside the player’s camp and are now completing the final elements of the deal, which is expected to be signed and announced soon.
It comes at a time when the club’s owners Fenway Sports Group has sold a minority stake in Liverpool to the US private equity firm Dynasty Equity for an unspecified sum of £82million-£164m.

Tying down Alexander-Arnold has been a priority for Jurgen Klopp and sources say the right-back is committed to the club and has no plans to leave.
He has spent his entire career at Anfield and has clocked up a remarkable 277 appearances even though he does not turn 25 until next week.
The England international has taken on a hybrid role with great success since the final months of last season with the boss seeking to maximise his world-class passing range.
Alexander-Arnold netted four goals and offered up ten assists in 47 appearances last term and had been a regular starter for the Reds before picking up a hamstring injury in the early stages of the new campaign.
