Revealed: Aston Villa land record-breaking £20m jackpot
Aston Villa have earned a club record £20million from season ticket sales ahead of the 2023/24 season, Football Insider can reveal.
The Birmingham-based side announced on Monday (10 July) that all 30,000 season tickets put up for sale have sold out.
Villa stated that an ‘unprecedented’ number of fans chose to renew their season tickets, meaning only a limited number were released to those on the waiting list.
As a result, Villa’s season ticket waiting list is expected to grow to over 30,000.
It is the fourth successive year that Villa have been able to sell out their season ticket capacity, despite once again raising prices this summer.
Villa announced in April that the cost of season tickets was being raised by a minimum of 15 per cent despite prices also being inflated last summer.

It means the cheapest adult season ticket at Villa Park came in at around £600, whereas higher-end tickets ranged up to £865.
Because of the price rise, it means Villa’s £20million in sales is a new club record in terms of season ticket revenue.
Villa reported matchday income of just £16million in 2021/22, although that figure is expected to significantly grow for both 2022/23 and 2023/24 after the prices of season tickets were raised in successive years.
The Villans are also planning to expand Villa Park in the near future after announcing plans to increase stadium capacity to 50,000.
The project is set to involve the construction of a brand-new North Stand, improvements to the Trinity Stand and a new fan zone and commercial district around the venue.
